Dear Parents,
A really BIG thank YOU to all of you for responding to my emails and sms with regards to the travel declaration form and monitoring the health status of your child. Really glad to see most of the children on the first day of school. They were so happy communicating among themselves, either talking about their holiday or showing each other the GREAT work that they had done to their "Follow Your Parents to Work" booklet. I am sure through this experience, they appreciate what their parents have done to make their lives so comfortable.
In addition, the seating arrangement for the class has been adjusted and most of the appointment holders selected. Most of the children in the class would love to be class monitor, discipline monitor or group leader, and I have to say that the previous batch of leadership appointment holders had done a really great job!
I am still in the process of adjusting the leadership roles to ensure that all of them get to hold a leadership role by term 4. Not only are class monitors and discipline monitors important, group leaders, assistant group leaders as well as all other monitors and subject representative are equally vital in the class' daily "operation". If your child had not been selected to be the class monitor or discipline monitor, they should not be overly concerned as group/assistant group leadership, other monitors or subject representatives are equally challenging. For all appointments, the child learns how to work in harmony with his/her group/class as well as to be firm when the situation requires them to. I had told the class that and hope that you can reinforce this message to them.
In addition, please be reminded that the ODTs (thermometers) issued previously will continue to be kept in the class till the end of the year. We would continue with the twice-daily temperature taking exercise this week. During recess, the children have been reminded to wash their hands before and after their meals. I had also told them to refrain from touching their eyes, nose or mouth with hands unwashed, as the virus is airborne. Even if the carrier leaves the place, the virus would still be there for sometime.
