Updates for this week

Dear Parents,

1) Annual Sports Meet

Tomorrow is our school's annual sports meet, only upper primary are involved. Thus, your child need not come to school tomorrow.

2) Completion of blue hanyu pinyin booklet

To keep them occupied tomorrow, I had returned them their blue hanyu pinyin booklet for their completion of the whole booklet and correction of previous spelling mistakes. Please go through this booklet with them to see how creative they are. I am really impressed by their work.

3) Returning of blue file and Chinese activity book for revision

The children had gotten back their blue files today. Their activity books were also returned to them earlier in the week. This is to enable them to revise for the coming Chinese class test on 30/4 (Thursday). They had written down the topics covered on page 82 of their school diaries. It is basically all the hanyu pinyin topics that we have covered thus far (textbook pages 5-66).

Next week, I would be giving them a "mock" class test and return the papers to them by the end of next week. The format in the "mock" class test would be the same as the actual class test.

4) Safekeeping of student concession pass

Your child must be real excited to receive his or her concession pass this week. As this is an important card and the students are responsible for the loss of this card, I had reminded them to keep the pass in their wallet or with their parents, and not to take it out and "admire" their cute and pretty faces on the pass.

The children were told that they can use this pass to borrow books from the school library. Some thought that their parents need to top up the card with cash before they can do so. Thus, please assist to clarify with them that they could straightaway use this card to borrow school library books without having to top up. I saw some of our class students borrowing CDs using the concession pass. How advanced!

May you and your family have a great weekend! Will keep you posted with more details on the International Friendship Day costume parade during the weekend!
